Scientific Research about Cannabinoids

Posted by Weedabix On February - 15 - 2013

Each and every one of us is wired to react to cannabis. This documentary explores the scientific research and real facts surrounding cannabinoids which can be found in cannabis. The film also expounds upon the belief that the development of every humans endocannabinoid center in the brain was a result of evolution, and that these chemicals actually regulate everything from apetite, to sexual response, heart function. When marijuana is consumed it is broke down into many different endocannabinoids which can then bind with various receptors in the brain, as well as other in the function of other organs. The study of these endocannabinoids have been studied at major universities across the world, from Tel Aviv to Chicago, and peer reviewed studies have been published showing that the use of cannabis can help regulate diseases as varied as Diabetes, AIDS, and Cancer.

As I’ve stated previously some of my first experiences with smoking marijuana was in my friends basement who was dying of leukemia. And because of the devastation and highly emotional nature of claiming a cure all I’m not going to give out any false hope. I won’t say that without a doubt that cannabinoids are the magic wand to get rid of cancer. I will say that a lot of people, at major universities, who are actually specialists in their fields believe that marijuana and the cannabinoids inherit in it actually have the power to kill cancer cells. Many times people think of medicinal marijuana and associate its anti-nausea effects which is one of the main reasons it started being used legally (at a state level) medicinally in the US. Now we are beginning to see that the compounds inherit in marijuana (and it’s most likely not the psychoactive compound THC) do have an ability to kill bad cells while protecting good ones.

Cannabinoids are found no where else in nature besides cannabis, and because of their fat loving nature they have an ability to slide into the brain and directly bind with the cannabinoid receptor system in the brain. All of the research is reaching the point where the pharmaceutical companies have begun to take notice and have filed hundreds of patents on different cannabinoids claiming relief on everything from Alzheimers to Multiple Sclerosis.
