Strangely awesome video from John Stossel about the Drug War. Damn. He pretty much wiped up the floor with the prohibitionist propaganda here. Honestly this is a really great piece with a debate, information, statistics, and pretty much all the evidence you need to compile to show what a failure the war on drugs has become.

Marijuana mom’s are a certainly not a new phenomenon. Lord knows how long middle aged women (just as everyone else) have used marijuana. But with the availability of medical marijuana a new demographic of marijuana users is emerging. Middle aged women, especially moms. Now to all of us who smoke the herb I can’t see why a mom wouldn’t want to relax with a joint because of all the stress and pressures they must endure. And everyone loves moms :)

The second half of the story is unfortunately tragic. A man who was using medical marijuana to treat his chronic back pain had his daughter taken away from him. This is the dark side of the drug war, one that tears families in legal red tape. Marijuana use has skyrocketed among older users, and there isn’t any studies so no one really knows the true numbers of older people who smoke. Generally marijuana usage statistics come from teenagers. Older professionals are less likely to tell the truth about their cannabis use as they jeopardize losing their careers. End the Drug War and you’ll End the Federal War Against America’s own Citizens and Families.

The first few minutes are in dutch, but the rest is in english. The war on drugs has been going on for more than three decades. Today, nearly 500,000 Americans are imprisoned on drug charges. In 1980 the number was 50,000. Last year $40 billion in taxpayer dollars were spent in fighting the war on drugs. As a result of the incarceration obsession, the United States operates the largest prison system on the planet, and the U.S. nonviolent prisoner population is larger than the combined populations of Wyoming and Alaska. Try to imagine the Drug Enforcement Administration erecting razor wire barricades around two states to control crime and you’ll get the picture. According to the U.S. Dept of Justice, the number of offenders under age 18 imprisoned for drug offenses increased twelvefold from 1985 to 1997. The group most affected by this propensity for incarceration is African-Americans. From 1985 to 1997, the percentage of African-American young people put in prison increased from 53 to 62 percent. Today, 89 percent of police departments have paramilitary units, and 46 percent have been trained by active duty armed forces. The most common use of paramilitary units is serving drug-related search warrants, which usually involve no-knock entries into private homes

Jesse Ventura wants to legalize marijuana and decriminalize weed so users don’t go to prison.

BBC Covers the lax marijuana laws in canada terribly

And then moves on to the big issue. TERRORISM! Ahhhhhh!!!!!

This sort of logic is the latest desperate attempt to villainize weed. They tried with the commercial velow back in the day (trying to link marijuana use and terrorism), and failed as well since everyone knows what a load of bullshit it is. Fucking morons. How about, what if these smugglers were paid to smuggle elephant tusks into the states! You know they would for the right price! Save the elephants, Get tough on pot! Better yet, How about “Goldfish have left Lincoln Logs in my sock drawer!”;)

And something to clean the palette from all that nonsense ;)
